How does UBL-hub work?
UBL hub is an ERP-independent platform that is fully based on the UBL standard and has been specially developed to make optimal use of the Smart Connected Supplier Network (SCSN). As a service provider within SCSN, it offers UBL hub gives companies the opportunity to easily and securely do digital business with other affiliated companies. Our platform is flexible enough to connect to any ERP system or other platforms.
With UBL hub you can easily exchange messages such as orders, invoices and confirmations via a standardized and secure network, without having to make complex adjustments to your systems.
What is SCSN?
SCSN is an open network designed to improve collaboration among companies in the manufacturing industry. The network uses industry standards and consists of two main components:
The message standard:
This is a fixed agreement on what information is shared and in what format. The standard is based on Universal Business Language (UBL), a globally accepted standard language (ISO/IEC 19845:2015).
The technical infrastructure:
Within SCSN, UBL has been adapted to the specific needs of the manufacturing industry. This ensures that messages can be shared securely and controlled between companies. The network is set up according to the so-called four-corner model, which means that all service providers within the network are connected.
Why is the four-corner model important?
The four-corner model allows each company to communicate with all other companies in the network through its own service provider. This solves the limitations of previous models, such as:
Two-corner model:
A direct connection between two companies, which must be set up each time. This is costly and inefficient.
Three-corner model:
A single service provider acting as an intermediary, but creating dependency and monopoly issues.
Four-corner model:
The four-corner model offers the benefits of scalability, flexibility, and data sovereignty. Each company retains control over its own data, while being able to easily communicate with all other companies in the network through their service provider.
